Announcing Iran’s readiness to export technical and engineering services to Turkmenistan, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: “Iran Road” project is the gateway to Iran’s land of transit opportunities.

 

International Relations Think Tank: Mehrdad Bazarpash, at the opening ceremony of the 17th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Turkmenistan, said: I appreciate the warm hospitality of the neighboring country, friend and brother of Turkmenistan, especially Mr. Sardar Bardimohamedov, the president. He added: I believe that two important events, the current 17th Joint Economic Commission and the 15th specialized exhibition of Iran in Ashgabat, are a turning point in the path of strengthening and developing all-round economic relations between the two countries. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: During the last two years, the determination of the parties to increase relations has been tangible and evident more than in the past. Bazerpash emphasized: the relations between the two countries through civilizational, historical, cultural, social, ethnic and religious ties and geopolitical and geoeconomical neighborhood, and on the one hand, the experience of successful diplomatic relations and constructive interactions between government actors and private sector activists in the field of economy and trade based on capacities And the great common interests are beyond the neighborhood according to the interpretation of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, as a relative country.

He continued: links and commonalities with regard to the neighbor-oriented policy approach and the development of all-round economic relations with the neighbors as a priority of the 13th government and the president’s emphasis in this regard creates a promising atmosphere to strengthen the joint role of the two countries in the economic and commercial developments of the region. Bazarpash stated: Among these initiatives in the field of transportation, logistics and transit is the Iran initiative (IRAN-RAH), which was launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran in regional and extra-regional economic, commercial and transit events and meetings, including The recent meeting of ECO transport ministers is held in Tashkent. He emphasized: the word “way” in Farsi language means both way and solution at the same time. Therefore, “Iran Rah” means that Iran will play a role as both a way and a solution for safe and affordable economic links for constructive competition and the participation of interested actors in the field of transit and logistics. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development continued: Regional and extra-regional countries will have the opportunity to solve a major part of their transit and logistics issues by using Iran’s routes, facilities and capacities. Bazarpash stated that Iran Road is considered as a gateway to the land, logistics and transit opportunities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is a solid and promising basis for the transformation of the transportation and transit relations between the two countries and the promotion of cooperation. He continued: According to the principles that govern Iran. Certainly, the bilateral partnerships of Iran and Turkmenistan will be strengthened in all economic and commercial dimensions, and this partnership will be the basis for the strategic partnerships of the two countries with other regional and extra-regional countries in the east-west and north-south routes. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated: Iran welcomes the joining of Turkmenistan to the North-South and Trasica International Transport Corridor in recent months. Bazerpash said: On the sidelines of the recent meeting of ECO transport ministers in Tashkent, a key four-way agreement was signed to form a China-Europe international multi-faceted corridor through Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated: Iran welcomes the joining of Turkmenistan to the North-South and Trasica International Transport Corridor in recent months. Bazerpash said: On the sidelines of the recent meeting of ECO transport ministers in Tashkent, a key four-way agreement was signed to form a China-Europe international multi-faceted corridor through Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey. He said: We will pursue the establishment of the East-West, China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Europe route through consultation with the Chinese, Kazakh and Turkmen parties. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development mentioned the activation of the Ashgabat Corridor and its development and commercialization with the cooperation of other members, especially Turkmenistan, as the trustee party of this agreement, as one of the plans of our country. Bazarpash stated: We are pursuing the development of Caspian-Bana cooperation and partnerships through the development of maritime and port relations and combined transportation with Turkmenistan in the east to west and north to south of the Caspian Sea. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development announced Iran’s readiness to export technical-engineering services and participate in the development of Turkmenistan’s infrastructure, especially the Merv-Sarkhs and Inchebron-Turkmenbashi road projects. Bazerpash said: We welcome and support joint programs to develop transportation exchanges and speed up and facilitate time, costs, and tariffs at border, road, rail, and port terminals and in the territory of each country. He emphasized that the determination of the two countries is to create a transformation and leap in all-round economic relations, especially in the sectors of trade, transportation and transit, oil, gas, electricity and technical engineering services.
